MicroStrategy, Plumtree Ink Portal Deal

In an effort to distribute data via wireless devices, MicroStrategy Inc. Tuesday agreed to
lend its business software to corporate portal firm Plumtree Software.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Specifically, the agreement calls for the integration of MicroStrategy (MSTR)
InfoCenter portal capabilities into the Plumtree Corporate Portal. The
solution allows users to manage the distribution of information to a variety
of wireless devices from the same Plumtree portal platform that integrates
access to other enterprise applications and Internet services.

MicroStrategy InfoCenter is an intelligence portal that provides users with
personalized information services based on their preferences.
With MicroStrategy InfoCenter embedded in a Plumtree portal, users can now
manage information services via a personalized portal home page, but allow
for delivery of that information via a variety of devices.

The bundle is displayed as Plumtree Portal Gadgets. Similar
in appearance to the sports scoreboard or stock portfolio of a consumer
portal, Gadgets are plug-in portal modules that represent components of
enterprise applications. Users assemble a view of their business by choosing
the gadgets to appear in a personalized portal page.

“Plumtree’s strength in the portal market coupled with the power of
MicroStrategy InfoCenter and its subscription-based model make this an
excellent marriage of technologies,” said Sanju K. Bansal, chief operating
officer of MicroStrategy.

The MicroStrategy InfoCenter integration bolsters an alliance between the
two companies inked last September following the integration of
Microstrategy Web in the Plumtree Corporate Portal.
