Planet-Intra.Com Tuesday teamed with Sun Microsystems Inc. to
allow Internet service providers the ability to offer clients secure,
customizable intranets.

Sun’s (SUNW)
servers will run Planet-Intra’s intranet portal software, which will give
ISPs a leg up on businesses that offer only standard Internet access.

Sun and Planet-Intra said more ISPs are recognizing the importance of
offering clients hosted software applications such as Planet-Intra in
conjunction with standard Net access to stand out in the ever-crowding
market. Intranet applications will make it possible for ISPS to offer small businesses value-added solutions for information sharing.

Planet-Intra, which runs on a Java platform, specializes in providing
no-programming instant intranets that are secure and easy to implement.
