Report2Web Corp., a Web-based
enterprise reporting provider, Tuesday unveiled Report2Web 2.0.
Report2Web 2.0, scheduled to be released in April, is designed to give
users access to business information through a standard Web browser. The product uses Internet server technology to securely distribute reports
through a single user-friendly interface.
Report2Web is similiar to an external portal, the company said, as the
software uses a company’s intranet or extranet to distribute
documents to an end-user’s desktop. Report2Web handles various types of
documents and puts them online.
Features of Report2Web include PageMart,
proprietary technology that instantly retrieves reports up to a million pages.
In addition, a burster feature
splits large reports of up to 2 gigabytes and
distributes them to the appropriate people in an
enterprise.
Users can also archive reports, use e-mail
features to send reports to co-workers or
subscribe to reports and be notified via their in-boxes when a new
information is posted.
Report2Web also offers search capabilities for easy location of reports and key words within reports.
“We saw the opportunity to create a product that
benefited every person in a company, from an IT
manager, to a CEO, to the end user,” said
Jerry Levin, chief operating officer of Report2Web.
“By using the Web as an automated distribution
vehicle, the enterprise report portal gives IT
managers a tool that helps save them a lot of
administration time, but it also makes it easier for
workers in different departments to gain access to
critical data,” said Levin.
Report2Web 2.0 software runs on Windows NT servers.
Pricing begins at $19,950.
