American Express Travel
Services
and Staples Inc. have
taken their corporate services online, announcing plans Tuesday to create
intranets aimed at boosting employee productivity.

The two companies will use IntraNetics 2.0, a suite of full-service
applications to create comprehensive intranet solutions.

For American Express, IntraNetics’ application will enable
personnel to manage travel plans and expenses directly from their intranet.
Purchasing tickets, finding last-minute travel bargains and making
itinerary changes are now centralized thereby reducing time and effort and
increasing productivity, the company said.

Staples’ e-commerce site
will be integrated into the organization’s intranet, empowering authorized
personnel to search for products and place orders. Administrators can
receive e-mail reminders and personalized lists to help manage inventory. A
product
matchmaker and order status report will also be offered.

“We constantly strive to offer our customers applications and services to
increase the overall value of their intranet,” said Steve Crummey,
IntraNetics president and chief executive officer.

“These new resources will add to IntraNetics already vast array of powerful
applications and features found in a single integrated interface.”
