Tdsoft Sews Up European Deals

Tdsoft, an Israeli maker of broadband access equipment, recently completed installations for several European Internet service providers (ISPs).

Neither the customer names, nor the financial terms of the deals, was disclosed.

Tdsoft develops and sells voice access gateways and access concentrators — hardware and software that enables ISPs to deliver bundled voice and data services over broadband access networks to enterprise customers.

The ability to use existing networks to delivery a range of broadband services, such as local and long-distance phone services, high-speed Internet access, teleconferencing and streaming media, is seen as key to improving the profit margins of ISPs.

Several U.S. communications providers, including Covad, Verizon and SBC have recently rolled out packaged offerings.

Previously, Tdsoft notched customer wins with ISPs and telecommunications providers in Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain.

“With this successful installation, Tdsoft continues to lead the voice-over-broadband market in Europe,” said Avigdor Shlomovits, the company’s marketing director.

Tdsoft is privately held and venture-backed by several U.S. investors including Apax Partners and HarbourVest Partners. In addition to its headquarters, the firm has offices in Germany, Benelux, Spain, Hong-Kong and Dallas.
