Verity Verifies With Security Partners

Enterprise search and collaboration firm Verity has partnered with security software makers IBM, Netegrity, Oblix and RSA Security to help customers better integrate the two offerings.

Financial terms of the pacts were not dislcosed.

“The integration . . . enables enterprise users to access content across their servers through a single secure search interface,” said Anthony J. Bettencourt, Verity’s president and CEO.

If a user is not identified through the security software, a restricted document listing will not appear in the search results.

For Verity, of Sunnyvale, Calif., the move should help it gain further credibility among large corporate customers.

“Single point of access to all enterprise content is one of the top three requirements that we hear from enterprises,” said Sue Feldman, a vice president with IT researcher IDC. “However, this access must be secure, and it must be controlled so that only authorized users have access to each document or datapoint.”

Verity software is used for sharing information within and between enterprises; for facilitating e-commerce

sales; and for B2B activities on Web-based market exchanges.

Verity products are used by 3,500 organizations including: Adobe, AT&T, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Cisco, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, EDGAR Online, Financial Times, Home Depot, Lotus, META Group and SAP.
