The rumors turned out to be true. The same Vietnamese forum that posted details about the next generation iPhone followed up with a video outlining specs of the next iteration of Apple’s MacBook line.

The jury’s still out on the iPhone 4G, but the new MacBook is real and available in stores today, Apple has confirmed.

Hardware Central has the story on the new Apple MacBook, which sports a significant boost in battery life.

The purported new MacBook shown on a Vietnamese forum turned out to be the real deal.

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) has quietly upgraded its entry-level MacBook with the new specs as rumored, and has also added a very long-lasting battery.

A spokesperson for the company said the update is official and available now from Apple’s retail store. The MacBook is Apple’s only notebook priced under $1,000. It differs from the Pro line in that it uses a white polycarbonate body instead of the brushed aluminum of the higher-end model, and its specs are a little lower than the rest of the line, although this release brings it much closer to parity with the 13-inch MacBook Pro.
