Movie ticket sales company Fandango said that former Seagram CEO and Vivendi
exec Edgar Bronfman Jr. has agreed to an appointment on its board of
directors.

Santa Monica, Calif.-based Fandango, which sells advance movie
tickets online and by phone and is testing print-at-home
ticketing
, said that Bronfman’s experience in the entertainment and
consumer products sectors “make him the ideal choice to help guide Fandango”
through a period of rapid growth.

Bronfman is currently CEO of Lexa Partners, a privately held management and
venture capital group based in New York City. During his 1994-2000 stint at
the helm of Seagram, Bronfman built a film studio, created the Universal
Music Group, and established Universal Theme Parks.

He also serves as Vivendi Universal’s vice chairman of the board of directors
and is on the board at USA Interactive .

Fandango just last week said it thwarted an
end-run
by AOL Moviefone allegedly aimed at snagging one of its movie
theater partners.
