France Telecom this week launched a version of its Wanadoo portal in Spain.

Operated through its Spanish subsidiary, Internet service provider Uni2, Wanadoo Spain will offer a search engine, thematic information, site selection, newsgroups, e-mail, competitions and a host of other features. The goal is for Wanadoo to become one of the top three Spanish portals, the company said. It is scheduled to go live on Oct. 1.

The launch of the Wanadoo portal is a key component of Uni2’s Internet strategy, which is structured
around two core products: @bono, a flat-rate service that includes Internet access and 30 hours of
telephone connection time, and Conexion Gr@tis, a no-subscription pay-as-you-go Internet service.

Wanadoo provides portal service in four countries: France,
Belgium, the Netherlands and now Spain. Service is also expected to be rolled out in
Denmark before year-end.
