Fremont, CA-based Lifeview, Inc. launched the Fly Video Basic Kit, which includes a video capture card, color camera, microphone, software, and accessories, all for $99.
The product is aimed at the video e-mail and conferencing market for both home office and corporate environments.
“The increasing demand for Internet video has been the driving force behind LifeView’s design of a packaged solution geared towards the mainstream consumer,” said Richard Chen, LifeView’s president and CEO.
“Supplied both as a packaged solution and as separate components, we believe we are giving consumers many options to either upgrade systems for video e-mail and Internet conferencing capabilities or simply get them started.”
LifeView’s Fly Video Basic Kit consists of the Fly Video EZ-II video capture
card, the Fly CAM Ultra color CMOS camera, a desktop microphone, Smith
Micro’s Video Mail CD, keyboard power adapter, and a composite video
cable. The vendor also markets higher priced kits: Fly Video Pro and Fly
Video Deluxe, which retail for $145 and $190 respectively.
End-users may purchase the Fly Video Basic Kit at retail outlets, including
Fremont-based In-Direct Electronics Wholesale.
