Pilot Software announced version 6.0 of its Pilot Internet Publisher (PIP) software that delivers decision support solutions to remote users via the Web.

The product is designed to work with the same company’s hybrid online
analytical processing (HOLAP) capabilities to provide scalable solutions that help very large communities to analyze massive amounts of data.

“Web-based OLAP solutions aren’t just about ease of administration and improved user interfaces any more. The web enables us to provide very large user communities with powerful business intelligence solutions,” said John Diggins, president and CEO of Pilot Software.

“Combined, our HOLAP and PIP solutions provide customers with the industry’s most robust and scalable business analysis client/server and web solutions. No other supplier offers the market these demonstrated strengths.”

Some of the key features of the latest version include:

  • applications that enable users to get up and running very quickly
  • a Java grid control to provide flexible report displays
  • Java-based charting
  • support for Microsoft Internet Information Server Version 4.0

Pilot Internet Publisher 6.0 will ship in June 1998 as part of the vendor’s Pilot Decision Support Suite, with prices starting at $25,000.
