24/7 Media and NetZero on Wednesday struck a marketing
deal that calls for the advertising firm to sell ads on the free ISP and
send out e-mail marketing messages to its customers.

The 24/7 Media sales force will sell run-of-site banner ads and more
highly-targeted (and highly-priced) ads aimed at NetZero users based on
their surfing habits, and their demographic, geographic and psychographic
profiles.
24/7 Media will also send out targeted e-mails to NetZero users.

“As we continue to grow, it’s critical that we leverage the strength of our
sales force by partnering with an organization that can help us maximize
the effectiveness of our targeting capabilities and the yield of our
advertising products,” says Mark Goldston, NetZero chairman and chief
executive officer.

NetZero has been one of the most high-profile of free ISPs most of which
are depending heavily, if not solely, on advertising revenue to survive.
