Apartments Plus Changes Name to Apartments.com

Apartments Plus, a provider of
interactive online apartment listings, said it changed its name to
Apartments.com and its URL to www.apartments.com.

The announcement follows the December 1997 acquisition of Apartments Plus by
Classified Ventures, a partnership of The Times Mirror Co., Tribune Co., and
The Washington Post Co. created to help newspapers expand their classifieds
onto the Web.

“Our new name reflects our mission to be the category leader for apartment
and relocation information on the Internet,” said Bruce Mitchell, president
and general manager of Apartments.com.

To ensure that consumers reach the Apartments.com site, its former address,
www.apartmentsplus.com, will remain active for the immediate future, the
company said.

Apartments.com also said it signed an agreement with Yahoo! to distribute
its apartment listings in the “Rentals and Roommates” section of Yahoo! Classifieds. Financial terms
were not disclosed.

Launched in Chicago in January 1997, Apartments.com now represents more than
600,000 apartments in 32 states.
