Chicago-based newspaper consortium Classified Ventures
launched
NewHomeNetwork.com, an ad site for newly constructed homes.
NewHomeNetwork.com
“harnesses the
promotional power of local newspaper advertising as well as a nationwide
network of popular newspaper Web sites to drive buyers to home builders’
online advertising,” the company said.
NewHomeNetwork.com will be available in 25 markets nationwide by early
February, and is being rolled out to Classified Ventures’ more than 140
affiliate newspaper communities this year. The site currently lists new
homes
and communities from more than 2,500 builders and developers–more than
300,000 home sites in 7,300 builder communities.
“Our goal is to provide the richest, most relevant selection of new
homes and
related decision support tools and information for home buyers in every
market
where NewHomeNetwork.com operates,” said David Israel, president and
chief
executive officer of Classified Ventures, the e-commerce business formed
by
eight large newspaper companies to develop new and expanded classified
advertising and information services online.
Home builders can choose among advertising programs that will enable
them to
feature floorplans, elevations, pictures or virtual tours of their
models, as
well as builder profiles, community and school information and other
informational services.
Each of Classified Ventures’ more than 140 affiliate newspapers has
committed
to promote NewHomeNetwork.com with a half page of advertising per week
and
banner advertising on their Web sites.
Separately, Classified Ventures named Daniel J. Donaghy as senior vice
president and general manager of real estate. Prior to joining
Classified
Ventures, Donaghy accrued more than 18 years experience in print and
online
advertising at The New York Times Co.
