Seattle-based Go2Net Inc., a network of technology and
community Web sites, selected Seattle-based Hadley Green Advertising for a
series of national advertising campaigns to build industry and consumer
awareness of the network.
Go2Net plans to unveil its new destination page and related offerings in
November. The campaign marks the first concerted off-line advertising push by
Go2Net. Spending was not disclosed.
“The Go2Net Network has quietly become one of the Internet’s premier
destinations, with more than one million users per day,” said John Keister,
Go2Net chief operating officer. “Now the time is right to build the Go2Net
brand, and we feel that Hadley Green is well-equipped, both creatively and
from an execution standpoint, to help us enhance our recognition.”
Hadley Green’s first initiative began this week with a regional campaign to
build awareness of Go2Net’s Silicon Investor site in the San
Francisco Bay Area business and media- buying communities. The Silicon
Investor push combines paid print and outdoor mobile advertising with direct
marketing focused on San Francisco’s financial and agency districts.
Go2Net’s advertising will extend nationally throughout the remainder of 1998
and into 1999, with strong emphasis on the Go2Net Network and the Go2Net
brand. Elements will include strategic national business, trade and consumer
media buys, market-specific focuses in major U.S. cities and a variety of
online advertising programs.
“Hadley Green feels very much in a vanguard position representing Go2Net and
we look forward to building a great partnership with them as we spread word
about the Go2Net Network,” said Dick Hadley, president of Hadley Green
Advertising.
Go2Net properties include StockSite, which offers proprietary
articles, portfolio tracking tools, company research and news relating to
business and finance; MetaCrawler, a search/index guide; Hypermart, a provider of free business
hosting services; WebMarket, a comparison shopping service;
and PlaySite, a Java-based multi-player online
games site.
