Hollywood Stock Exchange, an entertainment
site where people buy and sell “shares” in celebrities and movies, this
week inked a wide-ranging marketing and content deal with nascent broadband
programming company, On2.com.
The agreement calls for Hollywood Stock Exchange (HSX) users to integrate
links to On2.com on all of its pages with appropriate entertainment
content. On2.com will provide broadband video services to the Hollywood
Stock Exchange via links to the On2Network.
The deal gives HSX a foot in the door of broadband as it develops, and it
gives On2.com a connection to 800,000 users per month. Although On2’s movie
channel is in its beta period, it hasn’t officially launched, so traffic
building connections are critical.
Also in the works for the two companies is a plan to co-develop a weekly
movie highlight show. The program will be hosted by HSX co-founder Max
Keiser, and aired on On2Movies. The partners will also create an area on
the HSX site to promote On2’s latest broadband content.
On2.com and HSX will also collaborate on promotions, events, and marketing
opportunities with film studios, distributors and music labels.
To kick-off the partnership, On2Movies will provide exclusive broadband
coverage of O2K, Hollywood Stock Exchange’s annual Academy Awards event on
March 26th in Los Angeles.
