IAB to Honor Intel at Annual Meeting in San Francisco

Celebrating its second anniversary, the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) will hold its annual membership meeting June 16-17 in San Francisco and present Intel Corp. with its 1998 “Marketer of the Year” award.


The two-day meeting will kick off on the evening of June 16, with a reception
prior to the IAB Leadership Dinner, to be held at the ANA Hotel. The following
day’s activities will be take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts
starting with a 9 a.m. to noon members-only session, followed by the IAB’s
Marketer-Of-The-Year Luncheon.


At the afternoon session, which is open to all registrants, the IAB will
present industry
oriented panels, headed by the IAB Online Advertising Report–First Quarter
1998 Results, which will be presented by the IAB and Coopers & Lybrand.


Other panel sessions include: Meet the Marketers; Convergence–One Box, One
Future?; Small Sites Panel–Size Doesn’t Necessarily Matter; Internet
Creative Review–Best of Traditional and New Media; and a New Media
Journalist Panel featuring Ad Age’s Kate Maddox, ADWEEK’s Cathy Taylor, ADWEEK IQ News’ Bernhard Warner, Iconocast’s Michael Tschong, Inter@ctive Week’s
Steven Vonder Haar Jupiter Communications’ Peter Storck and John Flinn of
MSNBC.


“We will also utilize the meeting to update the membership on the status of a
number of industrywide initiatives which we are pursuing,” said Rich LeFurgy,
IAB chairman and senior vice president advertising, Buena Vista Internet
Group. “Additionally, it is important for us to continue to recognize the
people and organizations who are leaders in helping to drive online
advertising, that is why we are especially pleased to recognize Intel as
Marketer-Of-The-Year.”
