International Data Group (IDG) in Boston, the IT
media and information company, said that IDG.net, its network of technology-
specific sites around the world, appointed Jeff Julian to vice president of
business development.
Reporting to Laurie Morgan, president of IDG.net, Julian will focus on developing new
products and extending strategic relationships with advertisers and partners.
He will be responsible for developing new marketing initiatives and for
promoting IDG.net’s suite of services and focused audiences to customers
worldwide.
“Jeff was responsible for one of IDG’s early success stories online. His
proven track record in online publishing and clear understanding of IDG’s
vision make him an excellent addition to the IDG.net team,” said Morgan.
Previously, Julian was the online publisher at Mac Publishing, where he was
responsible for launching Macworld Online, eMediaweekly, iMacworld and
MacWEEK. As director of online business development for MacWorld Online from
1994 to 1997, he managed all sales and relationships with outside partners.
Prior to this experience, Julian held positions in marketing at Interactive
Network Inc. and the Australian Chamber of Manufacturers in Melbourne,
Australia.
IDG.net is comprised of more than 240 IDG Web sites in 55 countries, including
the Computerworld, InfoWorld, Network World and PC World product families.
Through its Global Web Advertising Network, IDG.net allows technology
advertisers to execute campaigns across any combination of IDG Web sites.
