Whether you see the ad with the top up or the top up on the convertible
Toyota Solara depends on the weather, if you’re surfing weather site Intellicast.com.
The Web site for outdoor recreation enthusiasts is running a campaign for Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc., in which the
ad that is served depends on the content on the Web page.
If the weather is sunny, the Solara is shown with the top down, and, if it’s
cloudy or raining, the top is shown up. Toyota purchased an exclusive
sponsorship of Intellicast.com’s DRIVEcast segment, which shows
weather-related driving conditions nationwide based on sun/UV levels,
humidity, cloud cover and precipitation likelihood.
“We designed our site for busy consumers who have sophisticated tastes and
use the Web to plan active lifestyles, precisely the audience Toyota is
seeking here,” said Ken Kaulbach, general manager of Intellicast.com.
“By embracing this new dimension in advertising and exclusively branding our
DRIVEcast resource, Toyota will stand out with consumers using Intellicast
to plan a drive to the mall or cross country.”
