Linda McCutcheon, president of Time Warner’s Time Inc. New Media, has
resigned to pursue other, unspecified online opportunities.
Bloomberg News reported that the company
plans to name a successor shortly.
McCutcheon, who joined Time Inc. New Media
in 1995, created the division’s online advertising sales business and
developed magazine subscription sales and electronic commerce.
Time Inc. New Media produces online versions of such magazines as Time,
Money, People and Fortune. The division also runs the medicine Web site Ask
Dr. Weill.
The company is one of the biggest magazine publishers on the
Internet, with its Web pages claiming about 80 million views each month.
McCutcheon joined Time Inc. New Media as director of sales and marketing, and
was named president in April 1997. She was marketing director at Time
magazine before then.
