ValueClick in Santa Barbara, CA, a provider of pay-per-click advertising, appointed Jim Zarley as chairman of the board.

Zarley is the former chairman of the board and CEO of Best Internet
Communications, where he helped orchestrate the merger between Best Internet
and Hiway Technologies, two Web hosting companies. He is currently the West
Coast chief operating officer for Hiway Technologies Inc. Zarley’s experience
also includes tenure as president and chief executive officer of Quantech
Corp., a company he founded, which was later sold to ADP.

“ValueClick is today leading the industry with a very smart business model and
a best-of-breed solution for cost-effective, targeted online advertising,”
said Zarley. “I couldn’t be more pleased to be working with this exciting
company.”

ValueClick says it now reaches over one million people per day across an
expansive network of more than 6,000 Web sites. An alternative to CPM-based
online advertising, the ValueClick model is based on “cost-per-click-through”
pricing. Advertisers pay only for “click throughs” to their Web site.
