Avaya is expanding its collaboration offerings this week with the release of Aura Conference 7.0. Avaya Aura Conferencing enables web and voice collaboration from multiple types of devices including desktops, notebooks, tablets and smartphones.

Aura is complemented by Avaya’s Flare Experience App which is now available on the iPad tablet as well as Microsoft Windows PCs. Flare provides a Unified Communications interface featuring voice, instant messaging, presence, email and document sharing. The new release can also help to reduce some of the distractions that are often present in conferencing solutions.

“Both users and moderators can enjoy unique visual and contextual controls that help eliminate most or all of the typical disruptions of traditional conference sessions, such as announcing or identifying attendees, muting background noise, identifying who’s speaking by name, etc,” Craig Lynar, director of UC product marketing at Avaya told EnterpriseNetworkingPlanet. “They can IM individuals or groups and take minutes or notes during the meeting that can be consolidated and saved by the moderator.”
