Red Hat CEO Talks Linux Security

In a video interview, Red Hat CEO Jim Whitehurst discusses his views on security and the prospect of a Red Hat security product.

“There are specific security projects out there that we can certainly productize,” Whitehurst said. “I’d never say never, but we have our hands full with what we’re doing.”

Even without a specific productized security offering, Whitehurst emphasized, Red Hat’s primary job is making sure that it is delivering safe and secure open source code. Red Hat has a security response team that quickly deals with vulnerabilities and potential exploits.
