Affiliate network technology and services company Free
Inc. signed an
agreement with American Greetings Corp. to build and manage the American
Greetings branded
affiliate network program.

Through the Be Free program, American Greetings will make
available its products in context to a network of affiliate sites, offering
commissions of up to 40 percent on initial product and subscription sales
purchased through affiliates’ sites. Financial arrangements with Be Free were
not disclosed.

“The Be Free affiliate network will increase our visibility on the Web, and
make it easy for consumers to find our site and send customized cards,” said
Josef Mandelbaum, vice president of interactive marketing for American
Greetings.

“The generous commission that American Greetings is offering will enable their
affiliates to earn substantial dividends simply by placing a contextual link
from their site to the American Greetings site,” said Gordon Hoffstein,
president and CEO of Be Free. “The American Greetings affiliate program will
reinforce the financial opportunities small-business and personal Web sites
can achieve through branded affiliate relationships.”

Be Free has more than 76,000 affiliates in its networks. Clients include
barnesandnoble.com, Travelocity Electronic Newsstand, Reel.com and Network
Solutions
. The company’s product offering includes the BFAST affiliate
network
technology and the BFIT targeted advertising delivery system.
