Andromedia Teams Up With Sun-Netscape Alliance

San Francisco-based Andromedia Inc., a provider of
e-marketing software, and the
Sun-Netscape Alliance, a provider of e-commerce solutions, agreed to
develop interoperability interfaces for Netscape SellerXpert and Andromedia’s
ARIA and LikeMinds product lines.

ARIA analyzes high-value data in real-time and reports on customer
information. LikeMinds Personalization Server personalizes each and every
customer interaction, providing real-time personally relevant responses to
customers’ needs.

Included in the Sun-Netscape family of e-commerce applications, SellerXpert is
targeted at companies seeking to deploy a complementary online sales
channel. SellerXpert delivers targeted sales, customer service and business
systems integration.

The goal of the partnership is to give companies the means to drive more
revenue by turning online browsers into buyers, increasing the dollar amount
of orders and improving customer loyalty.

“This new relationship makes an already solid partnership even stronger,” said
Steve Kanzler, Andromedia vice president of marketing. “We have always
strongly
supported the Netscape and Sun e-commerce platforms. Now we look forward
to expanding our partnership.”

“The Alliance plans to maintain its leadership by
implementing an aggressive, three-tiered initiative dubbed ‘Full, Speed,
Ahead.’ The initiative will expand our e-commerce applications business
through technology partnerships that will quicken deployment of applications
and improve product innovation. . .,” said Daphne Carmeli, vice president of the application product division for
the Sun-Netscape Alliance.

“Today’s announcement launches the first tier of the initiative, and will
enable the Alliance to provide customers with one-to-one marketing support,
continuing our leadership position.”

America Online Inc. and Sun Microsystems Inc. formed the Sun-Netscape
Alliance to provide easy to deploy enterprise and e-commerce solutions to
business partners and other companies. The Alliance software product
portfolio includes: messaging and calendar, collaboration, Web, application,
directory and certificate servers, commerce
exchange, procurement, selling and billing.
