Aiming to help engineers and architects with their building projects, Bidcom Inc. Monday bought Net collaboration
services specialist Cubus Corp.
Financial terms were not disclosed. Bidcom offers a number of online-based procurement services for the construction industry.
Bidcom President and Chief Executive Officer Doug Sabella said the purchase
would allow his firm to offer clientele less expensive collaboration
services for the full lifecycle of their building projects.
“Cubus has a proven track record of delivering a low-cost, easy to deploy
application for architects and designers,” Sabella said. “The acquisition of
Cubus will allow Bidcom to extend its collaboration service to a broader
base of customers.
As part of the acquisition, Bidcom has launched a free 45-day trial offer,
available on its site, to promote the
new basic collaboration service.
“Within Bidcom’s e-business environment customers will now be able to
collaborate and communicate on projects of all shapes and sizes, and access
premium services — including bidding, marketplace and information
services — that will help them to increase their productivity and
profitability,” said Azhar Khan, co-founder and CEO of Cubus.
In addition, Bidcom recently launched its financial services division and
announced a partnership with FleetBoston Financial.
