MasterCard International Inc. and
e-commerce solutions company Commerce One said they plan to team up
to co-market a complete purchasing solution for businesses and state and
local governments.

The planned arrangement would call for the MasterCard Corporate Purchasing
Card to be an online payment service for Commerce One’s BuySite and
MarketSite services.

The card features global merchant acceptance, control features and line-item
detail reporting on every transaction.

Commerce One said it plans to support MasterCard Corporate Purchasing Card’s
Level III data within its BuySite and MarketSite products upon the
identification of a corporate end-user.

Level III data is the most enhanced
level of reporting available to corporate purchasers.

Level III support compliments Commerce One’s robust purchasing card
functionality, which already includes support for purchasing card
applications, payment and reconciliation.

Upon finalizing the arrangement, the companies intend to jointly promote the
MasterCard Corporate Purchasing Card and Commerce One’s BuySite and
MarketSite software and services with MasterCard’s issuers and their
respective corporate customers and public sector customers.
