CoolSavings College Program Reaches 150 Campuses

Sep 23, 1999

Consumer savings and direct marketing company CoolSavings has rolled out its
college.coolsavings.com program
to 150 college campuses nationwide.

Students can register at college.coolsavings.com to gain access to a variety
of savings opportunities for use at local campus-area restaurants, sporting
goods stores, travel agencies, pharmacies, hair salons, jewelers and retail clothing merchants.

More than 500,000 college-aged members have already registered for the
service, the company said.

CoolSavings also entered into a
partnership with College Directory Publishing (CDP), a publisher of campus
telephone directories and yellow pages, for co-marketing efforts in 77
campuses where CDP publishes student phone directories.

In addition, college.coolsavings.com will be promoted on CDP’s new Aroundcampus.com college community Web
site.

Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

college.coolsavings.com was designed to build on the success of
coolsavings.com, which enables advertisers to target various promotional
offers such as coupons, rebates,
savings notices, samples, trial offers and more, to CoolSavings members based
on their household demographic registration information, shopping habits and
previous activity on the site.
