CyberCash, Netscape In E-Commerce Pact

CyberCash Inc.
plans to incorporate its credit and check payment services in Netscape Communications Corp.’s
BillerXpert bill payment application.

CyberCash’s PayNow secure electronic check service and its credit card
service will be included as a payment option in Netscape BillerXpert.

Last week Netscape debuted BillerXpert 1.0, an Internet bill presentment
and payment application that enables businesses to develop new revenue
streams. Through the use of BillerXpert, billers can offer
preferred customers the ability to view and pay bills
online by check or credit card.

CyberCash enables billers to accept credit cards and check payments in one
electronic cash register and manages the payment process such as linking
customers, sending settlement requests to banks and posting payments
directly to the biller’s accounts receivable system. CyberCash also
provides connectivity to banks and to processors.

“CyberCash has the most reliable and efficient bill payment system on the
market today supporting all three forms of payment, cash, credit and
check,” said Richard Crone, CyberCash vice president and general manager.
“It is a very natural development for CyberCash to be involved with a
company like Netscape to make bill presentment and payment widely available
to billers
on the Internet.”

“BillerXpert enables billers to turn billing into a competitive advantage,
strengthen customer relationships and build new revenue streams through
customer self-service and one-to-one marketing,” said Ben Horowitz, vice
president of customer relationship applications at Netscape Communications
Corp.

“Using CyberCash, billers will be able to securely process both credit
card and check payments over the Internet.”
