Digital Commerce Corp. launched esoftmall.com with three main software
anchor stores providing Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) capability and
shrink wrapped purchase of software via the Internet.
The three stores; Computer Center, Digital Store and Software Center represent
more than 1,000 software manufacturers and stock over 200,000 software titles.
The site also provides links to DCC’s fedcenter.com, its Educational Resource
Center, and Shareware Center.
Computer Center is part of the Techwave Commerce Center and provides selected departments such as a Microsoft Shop focusing on a variety of Microsoft
products. Digital Store is part of the Digital River Secure Network. Software
Center is powered by Ewarehouse and provides for government, corporate, and educational accounts with the ability to issue multi-user licenses for larger
purchasers.
Digital Commerce said it believes esoftmall.com will help to better serve its
member base fedcenter.com, “The government’s online marketplace”, with micro purchases of software in an open-market forum. Esoftmall links directly to
fedcenter.com so those government buyers may conveniently compare open-market
prices of software with those listed under government contracts in FedCenter, the firm stated.
The company said it plans to add an online bookstore to esoftmall and is currently reviewing the capabilities of both Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.
Founded in June 1995, Digital Commerce designs, engineers and operates
multiple virtual electronic markets on the Web in a secure environment.
FedCenter Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Digital Commerce Corp.
