ecFood.com has launched as a cyber-mall type
marketplace for
business-to-business sales by food manufacturers, allowing industry companies
to do business online “without the hassle and costs of building their own Web
site.”
With its new Community Marketplace, ecFood.com said it is offering a quick
and cost-efficient way for food companies to get on the Internet via Company
Storefronts, enabling them to promote their company, reach new customers,
build brand awareness and sell products.
“The ecFood.com Community Marketplace is an easy first step for a company
seeking to start its Internet strategy,” said David Laukat, CEO of
ecFood.com.
“For companies that already have a Web presence, the ecFood.com
Company Store Program can complement that strategy and offers more exposure
in a community forum with higher traffic flow than an individual site.”
ecFood.com Storefronts start at $1,000 annually for production and
maintenance.
Initial client companies include I.T.I., an independent company specializing
in importing tropical fruit purees and concentrates, and Kawasumi Inc., a
producer of teriyaki sauces, bastes and glazes which markets wholesale to
restaurants, hotels, caterers and grocery stores.
ecFood.com will include a homepage index listing each company and a brief
description; provide a search function by which all products are searchable
by title or description; and, if business have an individual Web site,
provide a hyperlink.
ecFood.com is powered by OpenSite Technologies Inc.
