B2B online marketplace Free Markets Inc. Monday
released a suite of Internet-based products for professional buyers and suppliers.

The Web-based products are designed to integrate and automate the
activities and data necessary for buyers to conduct strategic purchasing and
suppliers to bid on business opportunities in the company’s B2B e-Marketplace.

The products allow buyers and suppliers to work in a secure
environment and complete critical tasks over the Web, such as publish
online request for quotations, match bidding opportunities to
supplier profiles and manage multiple projects.

The products deliver solutions to customers and suppliers of the
company’s online B2B marketplace, according to Jane Kirkland, vice president
and chief information officer for FreeMarkets.

“The desktops are based on
the considerable knowledge we’ve developed conducting online
auctions, and give buyers and suppliers access to the information required
to conduct strategic purchasing,” she said.
