Infoseek, InsWeb Launch Auto Insurance Center

Infoseek Corp.
launched a new auto insurance center made to enable millions of users to shop and select
auto insurance coverage from InsWeb, an
Internet insurance marketplace.


Financial arrangements were not disclosed.


Infoseek users going to the Automotive Channel can obtain free auto quotes and
select products from InsWeb’s 13 auto insurance partners, including State
Farm, Nationwide, AIG, CNA, Liberty Mutual and InsureDirect. Infoseek users
can also use InsWeb’s research tools and other information to evaluate their
coverage requirements.


“Infoseek users can now save time and potentially money by using InsWeb to
shop for auto insurance. . . ” said Ned Desmond, vice president of online
services
at Infoseek.


“This partnership with Infoseek gives InsWeb premier exposure at one of the
Internet’s leading destinations,” said senior vice president Paul Weiskopf,
head of Strategic Partnerships for InsWeb. “This agreement is also important
for our insurance partners because it significantly extends the reach of their
products.”
