Aiming to offer discounts on products to its customers,
interactive marketing firm IntelliQuest Information Group Inc.
Wednesday teamed up with Internet coupon company coolsavings.com, Inc. to launch a
customer rewards program.
The program allows users who register with IntelliQuest to access coupons
from technology companies at coolsavings.com’s Web site. These coupons can
be redeemed at a variety of both Web sites and traditional retail stores.
Participating technology companies have not yet been named.
The strategy is to give customers an incentive to register with
IntelliQuest, as well as develop relationships with the participating
technology companies. It also will give vendors with a way connect
directly with customers.
“The Internet is an ideal mechanism for cross-selling and up-selling
technology products, because most product users now prefer to register
newly purchased products online,” said Charles Stryker,
president of IntelliQuest’s marketing division.
“Through the registration process, we’re able to capture important customer
data, making it possible for vendors to go back to these customers again and
again.”
