Intranets — Not Just for the Big Guys

Internet Shopping Outlet’s Shoplet.com signed a partner deal with Intranets.com that will allow the B2B and
B2C online marketplace deliver free, branded intranets to its small and
medium size business customers.


Financial terms were not disclosed. Both companies are privately held.


Shoplet.com, which claims more than 1.3 million subscribed users, aims to be
a destination site where small and medium size businesses and individuals can
choose from four million products and services, exchange news, product and
service information and access productivity tools.


“Partnering with Intranets.com is a key component of Shoplet.com’s strategy
to maintain and strengthen our relationships with our small and medium size
business customers,” said Tony Ellison, chief executive officer of Internet Shopping Outlet. ”
now we can offer them free communication and collaboration applications while
building brand awareness and customer loyalty.”


Intranets.com has moved increasingly toward developing intranet solutions for
strategic partners such as Inc.com, Concentic Network Partners and Hello
Direct.


Intranets.com allows partners to deliver a branded intranet that brings
applications such as document management, hosted e-mail and calendar
scheduling to their customers as a revenue-generating, value-added service.


“Partnering with Shoplet.com brings us a whole new customer base by allowing
Shoplet.com to integrate its shopping network into the Intranets.com’s
existing business applications,” said Steve Fischer, director of business
development for Intranets.com.
