Logitech Monday made an equity investment in AudioSoft International, a Swiss
software developer that specializes in the dissemination and management of
secure MP3 music titles on the Internet.

Logitech is also bundling AudioSoft’s Virtuosa, an end-user application, with
several of its newest interface devices designed to help users access and
manage audio and other multimedia programs on the desktop. Virtuosa, the
world’s first all-in-one user-friendly jukebox for the PC, allows users to
download and play music from their personal CD collection or from the
Internet in a secure MP3 format.

They can also create their own personal
library of legally acquired music collections using Virtuosa’s unique
CD-burning capabilities. Included in the AudioSoft CD containing the Virtuosa
application is an MP3 Music Center CD-ROM with more than 100 licensed MP3
songs and Internet music software.

In addition to its end-user software, AudioSoft has developed a system for
the secure electronic distribution of music via the Internet. The AudioSoft
solution integrates copyright protection, powerful databases and electronic
commerce in a system that offers legal access to worldwide titles and a means
to manage the distribution of these titles.
