Merging Wireless and the Mall

Location-sensitive wireless ASP GeePS.com Inc. was selected by the 220-store
Palisades Center shopping mall in West Nyack, NY to test the wireless
delivery of targeted, local shopping information and news to consumers.

Palisades Center, with two million square feet of retail space, “will become
the first major mall in the United States to offer stores the opportunity to
implement mobile commerce technologies by sending wireless messages to
consumers using WAP-enabled phones and PDAs,” GeePS said.

The mall, across the Tappan Zee Bridge from Westchester County, includes
Filene’s, Lord and Taylor, Sports Authority, Home Depot, Target, Ann Taylor,
The Gap, and Victoria’s Secret among other stores.

GeePS will also provide text messaging capabilities to help the stores reach
consumers via their home computers and cell phones. Financial arrangements
were not disclosed.

The agreement marks the first major metropolitan suburban mall test of GeePS
technology.

Consumers will be able to register on Palisades Center’s Web site and indicate the stores from which they want to receive special
promotional offers available only to wireless users. The messages will be
delivered on a pull/opt-in basis only. Consumers will not receive unwanted
messages, nor will their information be sold to third parties, GeePS said.

“Palisades Center is a state-of-the-art mall, and GeePS technology fits
well with our efforts to develop the trend setting customer services of the
future ” said Palisades Center General Manager John Mott.

“This agreement with Palisades Center marks the first time brick-and-mortar
retailers are trying wireless technologies as a way to capture new
customers,” said GeePS Chief Executive Officer Andy Goren.

GeePS has developed and introduced the GeePS.Store suite of products for
retail chains and the GeePS.Mall platform for brick-and-mortar malls and
virtual
malls such as media companies and portals.
