VeriSign Inc. launched VeriSign Go Secure!
Services, a suite of managed application services designed to accelerate the
way enterprises deploy secure e-commerce applications.
The services enable organizations of any size to rapidly incorporate and use
digital certificate-based authentication, privacy and non-alterable digital
signatures in both new and existing transaction and communication
applications, the company said.
The combination of the new services with VeriSign’s scalable OnSite PKI
service gives IT and line-of-business managers everything they need to secure
applications
“virtually overnight.,” the company said.
The solutions allow digital certificates to be incorporated into existing
e-mail and browsing applications, directories, virtual private network (VPN)
devices, Web servers and ERP solutions.
VeriSign said Microsoft Exchange already has become a user, accelerating the
way enterprises deploy secure e-mail and messaging. Additional Go Secure!
services for
secure Web access, virtual private networks and supply chain management will
be introduced over the next 90 days.
All Go Secure! Services, designed to facilitate enterprise-wide roll-outs
for up to a million users or more within a matter of days, include
plug-and-play components for use with leading applications, tailored support
and implementation
services, set-up guides and tutorials. Price points were not disclosed.
“We have responded to our customers’ needs by investing significant time and
resources to develop the essential integration and infrastructure components
needed to rapidly roll-out secure business-critical applications over the
Internet,” said Stratton Sclavos, president and CEO for VeriSign.
