Where there’s online smoke, there’s competition, at least in the cigar
business.
Syosset, NY-based Synergy Brands Inc. is launching Netcigar.com in time for Father’s Day and
the start of the golfing season.

The site will go head-to-head with a host of online cigar retailers,
including various cigar manufacturers. Yahoo! even lists cigar smoking as a
hobby.

Synergy’s grand opening promotion includes a free one-year subscription to
Smoke Magazine to all qualifying customers. The company also said it plans to
launch an advertising campaign for Netcigar.com through online channels and
traditional media.

The e-commerce site offers a variety of brand name hand made cigars as well
as premium hand made cigars that are produced in the company’s Dominican
Republic affiliate factory. There’s also a gift shop that includes leather
golf and luggage items, golf related novelty items for the home, cigar
accessories and fragrances for both men and women.

Netcigar.com also features cigar-related content, including cigar editorials
content, cigar reviews and chat rooms. On February 26, Synergy Brands
launched its first e-commerce Web site, BeautyBuys.com, which offers beauty
care products.
