Onvia.com, a business-to-business online
operations center for entrepreneurs, signed a partnership with the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE)
to provide information to small business owners and SCORE volunteer business
counselors.
Onvia.com and SCORE will offer two, 16-page brochures to business owners
nationwide seeking SCORE counseling assistance. Additionally, Onvia.com will
write a guest feature column for the SCORE Web site, and SCORE will provide
Onvia.com with monthly small business success stories and bylined advice
columns.
Onvia.com said the deal furthers its mission to be “the definitive online
source for entrepreneurs,” and to provide them with tools, services, advice and news.
SCORE is a non-profit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the
formation, growth and success of small businesses nationwide. It has more
than 12,400 counselors (retired executives) nationwide and assists
approximately 350,000 small businesses annually.
The 200,000 free brochures, “A Guide to Office Efficiency” and “A Guide to
Setting Up Your Home Office,” will be distributed to all of SCORE’s 389
counseling locations, beginning in December.
“The majority of small businesses that we counsel are in the start-up phase,
with lots of questions and a thirst for information specific to them and
their needs,’ said Emmett Gumm, SCORE president.
“To have these tools to give
them, and a resource like Onvia.com to point them to, is invaluable for both
them and the thousands of SCORE counselors across the country.”
Onvia.com has received over $48 million in financing and has established
supplier relationships with 700 product manufacturers, 25 wholesale
distributors of products, and over 1,000 independent RFQ partners.
