Herndon, VA-based independent ISP PSINet Inc. beefed up its electronic commerce
hosting services, adding the Intershop3 e-commerce hosting platform from San
Francisco-based Intershop Communications Inc.

PSINet’s integrated services combine Web hosting, transaction payment systems
and
merchant storefront capabilities. Businesses that do not require the complete
solution, may purchase each component part individually.

“As electronic commerce has gone from novelty to necessity, our standard and
custom services have expanded to meet the increased needs of our customers,”
said Michael Mael, vice president, applications and Web services at PSINet.

“Our standard offering reflects our clients’ desire for a one-stop commerce
solution that includes rapid implementation. Our custom solutions serve more
unique demands. . . .To address these
ever-changing needs, we are. . .continuously evaluating and choosing a range of
technologies that support complex business-to-business transactions.”
