Snap.com, the NBC and CNet Internet portal
services company, signed a deal with BizRate.com allowing Snap visitors direct
access to customer-rated merchant rankings in Snap’s Shopping Destination
area.
“BizRate.com is a highly trusted rating system on the Internet,” said Steve
Spinner, vice president of Snap.com’s business and channel development group.
“By bringing their ratings directly to shoppers on Snap.com, we’re empowering
our users with the information they need to make educated and smart
purchasing decisions.”
Financial arrangements were not disclosed.
Consumers who enter Snap.com’s shopping area to compare products, prices
and companies will have access to BizRate.com merchant performance ratings,
which are based on point-of-sale survey feedback from tens of thousands of
actual online buyers.
Users can also see how each merchant site performed against a series of
importance attributes, such as ease of ordering, product selection, on-time
delivery and price.
“E-commerce is maturing, and leading consumer portals like Snap.com are
looking to provide comparison services to their customers and vendor partners
that go beyond simple price comparison,” said Farhad Mohit, president and CEO
of BizRate.com.
