Online insurance marketplace InsWeb said it will make its insurance
marketplace available at Web navigation service Switchboard.
InsWeb will be the exclusive insurance site on Switchboard’s sponsor bar.
InsWeb said it can now be accessed with a single click from over 30 million
Switchboard page views per month. Financial terms of the deal were not
disclosed.
Under the agreement, Switchboard users can receive free comparative insurance
quotes for auto and term-life insurance by filling out a single form and can
subsequently purchase insurance from a selected carrier. Consumers can also
use InsWeb’s interactive tools and research databases to evaluate their insurance needs.
“Switchboard is a natural partner for InsWeb because it attracts a huge number
of Web users who are actually shopping for products and services,” said Marc Barach, senior vice president of consumer marketing at InsWeb.
