TechSmart.com, uBid.com Sign Three-Year Pact

Auction and e-commerce site uBid.com made a move into the B2B market by
teaming up with TechSmart.com, signing a three-year deal
whereby TechSmart.com will provide uBid.com users with an online marketplace
to purchase surplus digital business assets.

TechSmart.com is a B2B marketplace for surplus technology asset recovery and
IT services.

The new marketplace at uBid.com will sell pre-owned business equipment, such
as PCs, laptops, copiers, phone systems, servers and cameras, exclusively
through TechSmart.com. These products have been inspected and fully certified
by TechSmart.com, taking the “buyer beware” out of B2B auctions, the company
said.

Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

“uBid.com business users will be introduced to affordable, tier-one digital
business products without sacrificing quality,” said Dennis M. Lynch, founder
of TechSmart.com. “TechSmart.com will (gain) visibility for our Fortune
2000 customers who rely on our company to maximize value for their assets.”

TechSmart.com specializes in the asset recovery of digital business
technology for leasing companies, e-tailers, retailers, Fortune 2000
businesses and OEMs.

“uBid.com has been doing business with TechSmart.com for a year and we are
impressed with their commitment to making sure that each item they sell is of
great quality,” said Tim Takesue, vice president of merchandising for
uBid.com, a majority-owned operating company of CMGI Inc.
