Application service provider ReturnCentral.com launched a suite of
Web-based software apps designed to help businesses control their online
product returns.

The Virtual Returns Desk software can be integrated into an e-commerce
storefront so online customers have a convenient way to return products,
eliminating one of the most common complaints about online shopping, the
company said.

“The supply chains that are efficient in delivering products to market at Web
speed typically do not work well when they need to shift into reverse to
handle returns,” said David N. Hommrich, ReturnCentral.com founder and chief executive officer.
“Our systems are designed to help expedite products through the entire return
process by pushing mission-critical information out to the front-line
decision makers.”

Using the Virtual Returns Desk, customers can make arrangements for returns
via the online site where the merchandise was purchased. The software alerts
the shipper, prints return mailing labels and tracks the orders through each
stage of the returns process.

This summer ReturnCentral.com said it will offer another product, Returns
Center, to provide automated disposition management, inventory control and
shipping management functions. The Returns Center will integrate with popular
auction sites.
