WorldSpy Joins America Online’s Shopping Channel

Feb 20, 1999

WorldSpy, an online comparison and shopping
service, signed a one-year agreement with America Online to become a tenant on
AOL’s Shopping Channel.

WorldSpy will be prominently featured in the Shopping Channel’s Office
Products and Services area from which consumers can link directly to
WorldSpy’s new Computer and Office Pavilion site. WorldSpy will also be
featured in AOL.com’s and CompuServe’s shopping areas as a permanent icon.

In addition, WorldSpy will have the opportunity to appear on AOL’s main
Shopping Channel screen, participate in AOL’s gift reminder e-mail program and
be featured in the Channel’s “In Store Today” section as well as other
promotional opportunities. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

AOL members will have access to exclusive WorldSpy discounts and special
promotions as listed in the Shopping Channel’s “Steals and Deals” section. The
two companies are discussing building a special co-branded page on the
WorldSpy site for AOL members.

“America Online is undeniably an e-commerce powerhouse with the ability to
dramatically impact our business,” said Alan Clingman, co-founder and CEO
of WorldSpy. “Our affiliation with AOL will instantly elevate WorldSpy’s
brand awareness among our target audience. . .”
