Throwing its hat into a ring already crowded with political sites, Yahoo!
Inc. launched an Election News Hub
, offering visitors a one-stop-shop for political info from the local to
the presidential level.
Yahoo! said the hub combines all of the network’s tools in one place,
enabling visitors to find comprehensive political news and information, buy
election-related items and communicate with other voters via chat and message
boards.
The site will provide real-time election results, and offers multiple
resources for the U.S. presidential, state congressional and gubernatorial
races. E-commerce opportunities are available for people who want to purchase
last-minute political memorabilia, and there are links to sales sites for
books and movies with a political slant.
“With election night just one week away, we want to make it as easy as
possible for people to find the information they need to make informed
decisions — all in one place,” said Kourosh Karimkhany, senior producer,
Yahoo! News.
The Election Hub will provide up-to-the minute election night results, and
e-mail and wireless news alerts as well as video coverage.
