Yahoo took a lot of heat when it teamed up with Microsoft in the search market. That alliance, a bid to take on market leader Google, has seen Microsoft take over the technical infrastructure that powers Yahoo’s search engine. But Yahoo executives have pointedly disputed that notion, claiming that the company will continue to innovate around the search experience. And Thursday, Yahoo took another step in that direction, rolling out a set of new features to the search engine designed to more neatly order content surrounding popular news and entertainment items.
