SuccessFactors announced this week what the company believes is the largest private cloud deployment in the world. The company’s on-demand HR software will support 420,000 users across 80 countries in 20 languages for electronics giant Siemens AG.
Lars Dalgaard, CEO of SuccessFactors (NASDAQ: SFSF), called it “the worlds’ largest known Enterprise Cloud Computing deployment” in a statement.
SuccessFactors is running a user conference that will be in San Francisco on June 8-9, Chicago on June 15-16, and New York on June 18-19.
The company announced a new module for its core product, the SuccessFactors Performance and Talent Management Suite “that allows companies to maintain centralized employee information with deeply integrated social networking and collaboration, giving employees, managers and executives a single, real-time hub to have a more complete picture of their people,” it said in a statement.
Two more companies have since announced new products. Marketo offered a new service on the public cloud Force.com platform of Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM) and Tripwire announced a new virtualization product for the administrators of private clouds.
Marketo Sales Insight is designed to help companies track ad campaigns.
The company calls it a “social sales application.”
“Marketo Sales Insight enables social selling by letting sales reps define the ‘social network’ of leads and contacts they are interested in following. It then presents the rep with Facebook‐style ‘status updates’ from the leads and contacts they follow, highlighting the key interesting moments that indicate buying interest,” the company said.
“Marketo tracks and progressively profiles the web activity of prospective customers based on their host ID, so the prospect can remain anonymous until he or she is ready to engage. In addition, Marketo Sales Insight provides direct access to more information about the company and contacts associated with that anonymous lead via integrations to business networks like Jigsaw, Demandbase and LinkedIn,” a Marketo representative told InternetNews.com in an e-mail.
“Marketo Sales Insight gives my Sales team an unfair advantage by providing the essential data to focus on the hottest leads with the highest revenue impact,” said Dave Orrico, Appirio vice president of sales, in a statement. Appirio is a consulting firm specializing in cloud computing.
Marketo Sales Insight is priced starting at $49 per user per month with a minimum of 10 users.
Also on Tuesday, Tripwire announced the release of vWire, a virtualization management product designed to deliver real-time information concerning the current configuration of cloud as well as event data. It can be accessed through scripts or through the included vWire dashboard.
“Virtualization is unique in that there can be thousands of unique configuration properties in a virtual infrastructure, and the number quickly goes up when you consider multiple objects. vWire’s configuration automation gives virtual administrators new visibility to effectively monitor and manage configuration, change and performance data across the virtual infrastructure — all from within VMware vCenter Server,” said Stephen Beaver, Tripwire virtualization evangelist, in a statement.
vWire is priced started at $295 per machine, a company representative told InternetNews.com.
