The MySQL database is often associated with PHP, though that’s not the only open source language it can be used with.

This week, database vendor Xeround debuts their ‘MySQL in the cloud’ technology for the Heroku Ruby platform. The idea behind the integration is to make it easier for Ruby developer on Heroku to provision and use a Xeround database.

“We have implemented an automated way for a developer to register and create a database in a single click,” Xeround CEO Razi Sharir told InternetNews.com. “So if you’re a Ruby developer on Heroku, there is a drag and drop activity you need to do get your database running.”

Database Journal has the full report on Xeround.
